There should be an equal balance of approach towards
the new media and the traditional way of selling products. New media is class
related whereas traditional way of selling products is mass related. Selling
products through new media means using virtual media for display. Like Website,
Facebook, Twitter, WhatsUp etc. You go on Facebook, you buy social advertising
and you can very cost-effectively target people who are in the market for your
product from all over the world.
Traditional way of selling products means
selling products from a retail shop or a wholesale shop, where buyers would present
physically and would have a look of the product closely and then buys it. Both
are very effective in their respective ways. They complement each other very
well. But this balancing act is not that easy and you have to know the market
very well. This is the job of a market researcher or the experts who interacts
with the public every time. Market researchers never been biased towards any of
the two approaches because they know it very well that doing so is an act of
creating division between class and mass.
It is a debatable matter that which one is better
than the other. For new media people from all over the world would be able see
the products but for traditional way only local people would be able to see the
products. It is also true that permanent or existing buyers are always come to
the shops and buy it for them, on the other side potential buyers who are not
yet showed any enthusiasm towards the products but has a possibility of choosing
any in future would have a knack of using virtual media especially the young
generation. For market existence both medium are required. Showing presence in
the market is as important as selling products in regular basis.
