The Uber cab rape case has been heated up and created uproar in India. Are Indian cities safe for women at all? This question has only one answer- No. Driver accused of raping a 27-year-old executive has been a serial sexual offender and was out on bail in a rape case in 2013 besides being involved in similar case in 2011 too, police revealed this fact.
Had he not been granted bail from the court this unfortunate incident could have been abated. Those who have criminal records involving in such kind of crimes should not be allowed to come public. Police has to keep a track of these kinds of people and alert people especially women to stay away from them.
Meanwhile Bollywood reacted to this heinous incident occurred in the capital:
Actor Aamir Khan commented: "My take on this is that one of the most important things that we need, if we want the incidents of rape to come down, is a very high rate of conviction. Right now, the rate of conviction is so low. The process of justice is so long. And, the dice is loaded against the women."
Actress Sonam Kapoor told: "It's an awful thing
to have happened. Women are generally not safe in Delhi as compared to
Mumbai."
