Why to
play other sports with tennis balls when international tennis stars are coming together
to play International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) in the Asian countries like Philippines,
Singapore, India and the UAE.
Now it
seems that this tournament has added glamour as the legendary Roger Federer
turning up to play for Micromax Indian Aces and Bollywood poured their
heartiest support to his team. It was even seen Federer teamed up with none
other than our gorgeous Deepika Padukone, who is also very good at sports.
Together they managed to defeat Novak Djokovic and Sania Mirza before Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh joined in the fun. Actor Aamir
Khan, who has previously played badminton with Deepika too tried his hand with
the racket.
But the
best part of Federer’s maiden India tour was the dinner party held by a soft
drink company, where Big B showed the tennis champ a few
dance steps. They were also joined by Patrick Rafter, Pete Sampras and
Boris Becker. Many other Indian celebs like Lara Dutta, Rana Dagubatti and cricketer
Sunil Gavaskar turned up to watch the ace tennis players in action. All in all,
our B-town folks ensured that International tennis stars would have a memorable
time at the IPTL.
In IPTL 29
international tennis players and 4 franchise teams are going to show up their
talents in the tournament. Matches are played between star-studded teams,
featuring the likes of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Serena
Williams, Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras. Apart from them players like Caroline Wozniacki, Daniela Hantuchova, Maria
Sharapova, Sania Mirza are also participating here.
